The Window of Tolerance and the Optimal Meditation Zone

The Window of Tolerance (WoT), first described by Dr. Dan Siegel in the 1990’s, describes how people regulate within their embodied experience of their central nervous system and defines the amount of space people have available to them to regulate and self-soothe. An autonomic ,and therefore automatic, response system within our central nervous system, the WOT identifies three main areas of functioning within the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system.
