October 16 from 2-4pm EST
This 2-hour virtual training that explores the profound connections between traditional Indigenous healing practices and contemporary neuroscience. Through a Two-Row Medicine approach that honors both Indigenous and western ways of knowing, participants will learn how traditional practices like drumming, round dance, and vocal techniques serve as forms of bilateral stimulation and nervous system regulation that Indigenous peoples have used for healing for thousands of years. The training includes a mindful eating ceremony, and an exploration of neurodecolonization—the process of reclaiming traditional contemplative practices to support wellness and healing from historical trauma. All are welcome to this respectful, culturally grounded learning experience that centers Indigenous knowledge and provides practical tools for incorporating rematriated practices into daily life.
